When The Phone Rings

Hong Heejoo, a mute sign language interpreter grappling with severe depression, has endured three years in a cold, loveless arranged marriage. One day, her already bleak life takes a terrifying turn when she is kidnapped. Desperate for help, she reaches out to her distant husband, only to be met with an icy dismissal:
"Call me when there’s a corpse," he says before ending the call.

Fueled by anger and hurt, Heejoo decides to take matters into her own hands. She devises a plan to anonymously threaten her husband, no matter the consequences. But her scheme takes an unexpected twist: her target turns out to be none other than the infamous Blue House spokesperson, renowned for his razor-sharp wit and scathing sarcasm.

As the stakes rise and the threats grow more intense, Heejoo begins to doubt her grip on reality. Could this cunning man truly be the same person she married? And why does this dangerous game feel strangely intoxicating?
