Paradisus Valentinae

One day, Valentina suddenly found her former fiancé, Aethelred, standing before her. The runny-nosed little noble boy she once knew had grown into a tall, rough-edged young man. “…Fiancé? What are you talking about? It’s already been 6 years since we broke off our engagement.” “What do you mean…? When did we ever break off our engagement?” In the hands of the man who didn’t even know he’d been discarded was a letter ordering his assassination. And the sender of that letter, Duke Edgar, was the very man Valentina was about to marry. The even bigger problem was that this fox-like former fiancé had absolutely no intention of giving her up… “Then how about you answer me this? After the two of you secretly completed the wedding rite that day, did you consummate the marriage properly in front of witnesses?” Her mind went white. She knew exactly what he was trying to force upon her. Gritting her teeth, she slapped him hard, but Aethelred only murmured with a low, mocking tone. “Spare me. You didn’t complete a single step required to become a legitimate married couple.” His jet-black eyes burned with a feverish intensity, wild, unfamiliar, and suffocating. “…Choose me. I will make you the Ruler of the continent.”
