Fakes Don’t Want To Be Real

I spent my entire existence as a stand-in for the missing princess. Yet, the moment the true princess reappeared, the words came, "Let's find solace in this conclusion." I was left behind, a heart heavy with sorrow. ...But honestly, the outcome wouldn't have been any different, even if the real princess had never returned.

"I believe my purpose here has run its course. It's time for me to depart," I said with a tinge of sadness. "If you ever decide to return, I will accept you as my true daughter," was the reply. "I have no need for that," I responded, resolute. The truth was, the lack of love from others no longer held weight over me. I had resolved to shape my own path fully.

"It will rise so high that everyone will look up to it," I envisioned. "For you, I will ensure that becomes reality." Then he whispered, "Don't abandon me. Do you understand?" The words of love were softly spoken, and he even asked if I knew.
